Scottish Power signs multi-million deal with AXA Partners

AXA Partners has made a move into the utilities sphere by securing a multi-million pound contract with Scottish Power.

The deal will allow the big six supplier’s customers to receive home emergency cover, benefiting from a 24/7 emergency response service should problems arise with plumbing, drains and electricity.

According to GoCompare only 18 per cent of home contents insurance policies include home emergency cover, such as plumbing, drainage and electrical issues, as standard.

This new partnership ensures Scottish Power’s customers are covered through the supplier.

Neil Clitheroe, chief executive of retail at Scottish Power, said: “Joining forces with AXA Partners enables us to build on our existing partnership strategy, delivering a wider range of products and services to help our customers keep their homes running smoothly.”

AXA Partners, which was launched last year, says it has plans to “expand further” into the utilities market with additional partnerships, products and services.

Charles Dennison, sales director at AXA Partners, said: “Moving into the utilities market is a very exciting prospect for us, and we are thrilled to be doing so with Scottish Power.

“It was the right move for both parties due to our respective market experience, credibility and shared value for innovation.”
