Scottish Renewables has appointed Claire Mack as its new chief executive. Mack will take over from her predecessor Niall Stuart, who announced his intention to step down earlier this year.
Mack is currently director of policy and place at the Scottish Council for Development and Industry (SCDI).
Mack worked as a regulatory affairs manager in telecoms, radio spectrum and postal services at communications regulator Ofcom for 12 years before joining SCDI.
Scottish Renewables chair Patricia Hawthorn described Mack as being “a strong and capable individual to be our next chief executive” and said she “showed a real energy and a clear vision for our organisation and the sectors we are here to represent throughout the recruitment process.”
Mack was delighted to have been announced as the new chief executive along with having the opportunity to lead “such a capable and professional team at Scottish Renewables”. She said she looks forward to “helping to secure the best possible environment for the industry to thrive in”.
