Severn Trent and Costain unite to offer businesses multi-site water services across Britain

Severn Trent Costain builds on a long-standing joint venture that began in 2005 and delivers one of the largest PFI contracts in Europe to the Ministry of Defence.
The new joint venture will offer large multi-site water users a single supplier for all of their water and wastewater requirements. The company aims to help customers improve efficiencies, leverage cost savings, manage legal compliance and risk management issues and resolve water efficiency challenges.
The joint venture follows Severn Trent Services being granted a water services licence by Scotland’s water regulator, Wics, earlier this year. The licence allows the joint venture to offer single contracts to companies with sites across Great Britain.
The company said it wanted to develop a leading position in the emerging new competitive market.
Wayne Earp, managing director of Severn Trent Costain, said that at a time when large companies faced confusing environmental pressures, constantly-changing legislative requirements, and financial and administrative obligation, “Severn Trent Costain provides the opportunity to unify, simplify and optimise a very significant and critical segment of this burden.”
