Severn Trent and UU extend AMP5 contracts with Amey

This week Amey was awarded a £190 million five-year contract extension with Severn Trent Water and on the same day secured a £225 million contract with United Utilities.

In an extension into AMP6, Amey will help United Utilities to maintain more than 76,000km of sewer pipe, 42,000km of clean water infrastructure and private sewers for an additional five years.

The company will be responsible for carrying out clean water mains renewal and maintenance for Severn Trent, as well as delivering sewer upgrades, flood alleviation projects and installing or refurbishing pumping stations.

Amey has been working for Severn Trent Water for 12 years.

Simon Cocks, Waste Water Services director of Severn Trent Water, said: “To deliver our future investment programme on behalf of our customers we need to work collaboratively as One Severn Trent – and that means right the way across our supply chain.

“We’ve developed successful long term relationships with all of our supply chain partners and we’re pleased that we can continue to work together as one team to maximise the benefits of these arrangements.

“The vision for the next five years is all about investing efficiently so that we continue to deliver the lowest bills in England and Wales for our customers and leave a legacy to be proud of.”

In recent weeks Amey has also secured contracts Northern Gas Networks and Welsh Water.
