Severn Trent appoints MD for production business

Severn Trent has appointed James Jesic as managing director for the newly-formed production part of its business.

Jesic, who is currently head of operations east at the water company, will be responsible for driving higher quality water production and waste water treatment, with effect from 1 December.

The appointment comes after the company’s announcement last month to overhaul its senior management team ahead of PR19.

Severn Trent is splitting its wholesale business into three teams: customer delivery; capital delivery and commercial; and production.

“I’m really excited to take on this new role in production,” said Jesic. “I joined Severn Trent on the graduate programme and appreciate the support and development I’ve had from the organisation over the last 15 years.

“This is an exciting and challenging time for the industry and I am really looking forward to build on what has already been achieved and continue to make Severn Trent a success.”

Liv Garfield, chief executive of Severn Trent, added: “James brings a wealth of technical expertise and front line operational experience with him.

“James stood out in a strong field of internal and external candidates. It’s wonderful to be able to offer one of our own this amazing opportunity, and to be reminded once again that we know we are blessed with industry leading talent within our own organisation.

“I’m really looking forward to working with James in this new business area as he looks to build on the excellent work that he and his colleagues have completed for us in recent years.”

Severn Trent said the new business structure will support the company as it works towards driving upper-quartile performance across water, waste and retail in the regulated business.

The company’s non-regulated business, Business Services, will be expanded to include a bio-resources business.
