Lawrence Slade is to take on the role of chief executive of the Energy Networks Association, succeeding David Smith who has led the trade body for the past 15 years.
He will take up his new position on 20 February, with Ross Easton, the ENA’s director of external affairs stepping into the role of interim chief executive until then.
Phil Jones, chair of ENA, said: “We look forward to welcoming Lawrence to ENA as our new chief executive. Lawrence brings with him a wealth of experience in the industry and beyond, which will be invaluable as ENA’s role in leading our sector continues to grow.
“I would also like to thank David for the significant contribution he has made to ENA and, on behalf of the board, wish him every success for the future.”
Slade said: “I’m privileged to be asked to lead ENA at this crucial time for our industry and thrilled to be back in the energy sector once again. This is an important time for the networks as ENA’s members work hard to deliver safe, secure, reliable and sustainable energy supplies during a challenging time for customers.
