Source for Business wins £2.14m contract with NHS Trust

Water retailer Source for Business has been awarded a £2.14 million water and wastewater contract with Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

It secured the deal following a competitive tender, in which it demonstrated its “expertise in water efficiency” along with “cost savings” it could help the trust to achieve.

Source for Business is the national trading brand for Pennon Water Services, which previously provided water services to the trust.

The company said the win builds on its “reputation as a specialist in the healthcare sector”, having recently secured contracts with the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust and BMI Healthcare.

Richard Stanbrook, director of Source for Business, said: “We are very pleased to be awarded both the water and wastewater retail contract with Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

“This will allow us to build a long-term relationship with the trust and will help it to use resources efficiently and to save money. This contract win adds to our growing reputation in the healthcare sector and highlights the expertise and customer service excellence we offer customers in this area.”

Richard Hales, energy and sustainability manager (estates and facilities management) at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, added: “We have been through a comprehensive process of understanding the newly deregulated water sector. Following a rigorous procurement exercise we are very happy to have secured Source for Business as our water and wastewater services retailer.

“Through the whole procurement process they showed a real understanding of the site and appreciation of our needs. We are looking forward to a very productive relationship that works to continually improve our integrated capacity, efficiency and resilience agenda for a sustainable future.”

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest NHS trusts in the country. As well as providing care through Addenbrooke’s and The Rosie hospitals, it is a leading national centre for specialist treatment for rare or complex conditions, a government-designated biomedical research centre and one of only five academic health science centres in the UK.

Source for Business serves more than 165,000 customer accounts nationwide.

Pennon Water Services formed as an 80:20 joint venture between Pennon Group and South Staffordshire for the opening of the non-domestic water retail market.
