Ofwat is consulting on a proposal to allow SSE Water to supply Tideway Wharf, a five acre site next to Battersea Power Station.
SSE would take a bulk supply from Thames Water and offer customers a 3 per cent discount on volumetric charges.
The energy company’s water supply business has won contracts for 14 sites since October 2007 and is awaiting approval for a Deptford riverside development, Marine Wharf.
