Switchers find it easy, says Energy UK

The survey, conducted by Ipsos Mori for the energy trade association, revealed that almost three quarters (74 per cent) of recent switchers found it easy to move their account to a new energy supplier.

In the last 12 months, a total of 16 per cent of account holders changed their energy supplier, with only 1 per cent attempting to switch, but not ending up doing so.

The poll also found that 10 per cent of consumers said the switching process was difficult.

Recent switchers also said they believed they were getting better value for money than those who had not changed their supplier in the previous year, with 48 per cent of switchers saying they trusted their supplier compared to 39 per cent who had not.

Despite this slightly higher level of trust in the energy companies among those who had recently changed supplier, only 16 per cent of recent switchers said they would recommend their supplier to others.
