The company originally planned to build 96 homes but the
plans were rejected. Save the Bath Road Reservoir Group had campaigned to
reduce the number to nearer 50, in order to preserve green space.
Reading Borough Council approved the amended plans but
asked for a report on the demolition of the concrete reservoirs.
The amended plans included 15 units of affordable housing
and contributions of £207,000 to transport infrastructure and £443,332 towards
school provision.
