Eric Brown

Eric is an independent consultant in energy systems at his company Grid Scientific. He is also Professor of Practice in Energy Systems at the University of Strathclyde. He is the former chief technology officer at the Energy Systems Catapult, and remains engaged with the Catapult as executive adviser. He has many years’ experience in the telecommunications industry.

 

 

Dominique Verhulst

Dominique is head of the energy segment at Nokia’s Network Infrastructure Group. Dominique is the author of Teleprotection over Packet Networks and co-author of several publications from the University of Strathclyde on the matter of Differential Protection over IP/MPLS.

 

 

Vincent Hay

Vincent is strategy and standards engineer for UK Power Networks. Vincent has been in the electricity industry since 2009 and has held a variety of professional engineering positions across compliance, connections, policy, planning, SCADA/OT, and smart grid across both transmission and distribution networks, and industry associations in New Zealand and the UK.

 

Calum Jardine

Calum is operational technology standards manager for SSEN Distribution, responsible for policy, standards and technical sourcing for protection, automation and control systems, and other OT solutions newer to the utility space. Calum has 14 years’ experience within transmission and distribution networks and specialises in protection systems.

 

Chair: Jane Gray

Jane is content director at Utility Week. She has been with Utility Week for 10 years in a number of editorial roles covering key policy, regulatory, business and technical developments in the energy and water sectors. Jane now leads Utility Week’s Intelligence division, commissioning and delivering specialist reports and events on topical industry issues in partnership with selected commercial partners.
