Utility infrastructure firm goes into administration

An Essex-based utility infrastructure contractor has gone into administration and may completely cease trading.

AWH Utility Services Limited, which has been trading since 2004, is now being run by accounts and business recovery specialists, Hazlewoods LLP.

Vic Ellaby, insolvency practitioner at Hazlewoods, said: “After considering all of the options, the directors had no alternative but to seek to place the company into administration.

“A reduction in good margin contracts, together with an increase in costs led to cash flow issues which became instrumental.”

AWH Utility Services installed gas, water and electric infrastructures on new developments.

The administrator said it will now review the business to establish whether any parts can be saved.
