Vattenfall appoints new UK country manager

The Swedish energy group Vattenfall has appointed Danielle Lane as its new UK country manager.

Lane takes up the role in August and has worked in the British wind industry for 18 years with roles at the Crown Estate, Ørsted and Centrica.

She replaces Piers Guy, who has held the role of for five-years and will leave Vattenfall, later in the summer.

“In Danielle we will have a new UK country manager who has all the experience and skill needed to support the growth of Vattenfall’s UK businesses,” commented Vattenfall’s chief executive, Magnus Hall.

“At the same time, I am sad to see Piers Guy leave us. He has done much to grow our UK wind business and deserves a lot of credit for that.”

Lane added: “I am hugely excited to have the opportunity to represent Vattenfall in the UK as we build on our ten-year old wind business. We are in Britain to grow and to support the UK’s power, heat and transport sector’s bid for clean air and freedom from fossil fuel.”

In April, Vattenfall successfully installed a record-breaking 8.8MW wind turbine at its European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (EOWDC) in Aberdeen Bay.

The upgraded version of MHI Vestas’ V164 model is the most powerful wind turbine to be deployed commercially anywhere in the world.
