The building materials firm Wienerberger UK has become the latest client to sign up to receive green electricity from Dong Energy.
Dong Energy will now supply of all Wienerberger UK’s sites with renewable electricity, which will enable the bricks and tiles manufacturer to help reduce its carbon footprint.
Wienerberger’s finance director, Paul Stevenson, said Dong Energy “shares our values and is passionate about enabling a sustainable future”.
The managing director of Dong Energy Sales UK, Jeff Whittingham, added “it’s exciting that one of the UK’s largest building material producers places such a strong emphasis on sustainability”.
“Naturally, we are delighted that Weinberger shares our ambition of creating this greener energy future,” added Whittingham.
Last month, Good Energy announced it has bought 12 per cent of the overall output from Dong Energy’s Westermost Rough Wind Farm, which is five miles off the Yorkshire Coast, north of Hull.
“Offshore wind will complement the other renewable technologies in our energy mix, such as onshore wind and solar, so this agreement is a great fit for Good Energy and a good deal for our customers,” said Good Energy chief executive, Juliet Davenport.
