Yorkshire Water names new chairman

Rabin will serve as chairman of Kelda Holdings, Kelda Eurobond Co and Yorkshire Water Services, with effect from 9 September. He assumed the role of acting chairman on 27 May following the decision of Professor Richard Parry-Jones to step down. His appointment has now been made permanent.

Rabin was first appointed to Yorkshire Water’s board in August 2013 and became senior independent director in March 2015. He has been a member of the board of Kelda Holdings Limited since September 2012. He will continue to act as chair of the Audit Committee pending the appointment of a new non-executive director to undertake that role.

Yorkshire Water chief executive Richard Flint said: “I am delighted that Anthony will be taking up the role of chairman and leading the board towards achieving the Company’s objectives over the coming years.”

Rabin has previously held roles at Balfour Beatty plc, including as executive director for 10 years, chief financial officer for six years and deputy chief executive for four years. His previous executive roles include Coopers & Lybrand (partner, structured finance group), Morgan Grenfell & Co (senior assistant director) and Arthur Andersen & Co (tax compliance and consultancy).
