Yu Water has applied for a sewerage retail licence to add to its existing water retail licence.
The company become the latest entrant to the new retail water market in December last year, after it was granted its water supply licence by regulator Ofwat.
Yu Water is a subsidiary of Yu Group, which also operates business energy supplier Yu Energy.
Yu Water will form part of the Yu Group’s portfolio and will support its growth plan to become the primary supplier of choice for multi-utility services – including power, gas and water to non-domestic customers.
Yu Group said its focus is to offer “competitive pricing with excellent levels of customer care”.
Other new entrants to the market are Tor Water, Utility Bidder, Smarta Water, Aquaflow and First Business Water.
