BES Utilities helps businesses hit by floods

BES has written to all of its non-domestic customers in the flood-affected areas offering financial support in a bid to help those who have suffered damage to buildings and ruined stock.

The company have also offered to freeze or write-off gas and electricity bills and replace damaged metering equipment for free.

The BES Fund – the first of its kind in the UK for non-domestic customers – was launched in September. It supports self-employed and small business customers who find themselves in financial difficulty and struggling to pay their utility bills.

Director and co-founder of BES Utilities Michelle Davidson said: “The floods we have witnessed over the past fortnight have been horrendous and many businesses now face closure.

“Through our market leading BES Fund we can help with payment of electricity and gas charges so customers can get their business back on their feet.”

Eon also announced today that they would offer a helping hand to flood victims by replacing boilers or white goods for domestic companies.

Davidson added: “We would like to understand the individual circumstances of those businesses affected by flooding.

“We would ask those customers who have been affected to please get in touch with us as soon as they are able to and we will do what we can to help them.”
