EDF Renewables has acquired solar developer SAS Energy, helping strengthen its position in providing renewable energy to industrial and commercial power customers.
Kent-based SAS Energy currently has 47 projects in development, which are set to generate just under 20MW. According to the developer’s website, SAS already has 35 projects around the country.
Notable clients include Kent County Council, the University of Sussex and baking company Greggs.
EDF Renewables UK has more than 45MW of solar projects currently in development in its commercial and industrial renewables business.
The company said its acquisition, which includes a team of 30 solar experts, will help expand its in-house offering to include both financed and capital funded projects across solar, electric vehicle charging and battery storage for commercial clients.
