Locational power pricing would be ‘high risk for little reward’

Introducing locational wholesale power pricing would be “high risk for little reward,” a new report has concluded. Any economic gains from zonal or nodal pricing would be “overshadowed by the scale wealth transfers between parties” and could easily be wiped out by higher financing costs for renewables.
