Taskforce recommends fixed balancing charges on suppliers
The taskforce commissioned by Ofgem to review Balancing Services Use of System charges has called for the fees to be fixed in advance for periods of up to a year and levied entirely on final demand. The Second Balancing Services Task Force said this would be the most appropriate arrangement given the conclusions of its predecessor that the charges could not be applied to users in a way that reflects their individual impact on balancing costs.
